Description
Traditional carved wooden cuckoo clock that only needs to be wound once a week.
The cuckoo calls once every half-hour and sounds the corresponding number of calls on each full hour. The shingled roof consists of hundreds of small wooden plates, cut and glued by hand.
Mechanical movement with a sound shut-off lever. The dial, hands and even the bird are carved from wood. The woodcutter chops wood with his axe while the cuckoo sounds.
To wind the clock every 8 days, simply pull the chains to raise the two weights.
